A Growing Boy

A growing boy needs his rest...

and more rest...

and more rest...

and his new mom really needs her rest!

Well, it's been two and a half weeks since Sawyer joined the world. He started out weighing 8lbs 12oz then by day 4 he dropped to 8lbs 3oz, but by his one week check up was back up to 8lbs 7oz. We thought, "this is good, right?" (The biggest challenge with breastfeeding is knowing that the baby is getting enough to eat so this must be good. ) At his two week check up he was a whopping 9lbs 12oz! So I guess it's safe to say he's getting enough to eat. Of course, he has also outgrown all the newborn clothes we have and has moved on to 3 month sizes. Yikes!

Given what a good eater he is Sawyer is an especially good pooper. He is soiling a record number of diapers a day. (We're so proud!) Thank goodness we simply wash those or we'd have to take out a loan to keep this kid in diapers. What a mess. Oh, did I mention he has exceptional "aim" too. Yep, as all little boys will do, he's peed on me several times not to mention himself, his Grandma, his Dad, a bucket, and the shower door. Not bad for a little guy.
