5,4,3,2,1...

LIFT OFF!!! Actually, that's how many (or how few) weeks we have left. Hard to believe that March 1st is almost a flip of the calendar away. March 1st is our due date, and although everything (doctor-wise) is still pointing toward that date, Andrea is convinced he'll be at least a week late. John on the other hand thinks the kid is about to drop out at any minute. Please observe photo evidence #1 below, and we'll let you decide.

Baby mutters, "it's crowded in here."

After seeing the evidence and knowing the due date, now consider this... In two (2) weeks, John is taking off on a whirlwind trip to Las Vegas -- that's right...."Sin City" -- for his friend Carl's bachelor party. Hmmmmmm, doesn't seem quite fair. Keep in mind that John is convinced, though, the minute he steps off the plane in Vegas, his cell phone will ring bearing (pun intended) laboring news. We've decided we're not going to worry about it. If it happens that way, we'll deal with it the best we can, but we're crossing our fingers tight on this one. The good news is Andrea's pregnancy has been going well; knock on wood.

Kacie smells a bun in the oven.

Needless to say we're both very anxious to meet this little fellow that calls Andrea's uterus home. He reminds us frequently of his presence by kicking and jabbing Andrea's inner gut. It's quite the sight. Sometimes she'll even put the TV remote control on her belly and we'll watch it rock back and forth. We were told that's how you know it's a boy....when the remote sticks to her belly. Luckily for us he hasn't figured out how to change the channel yet.

Otherwise, our time has been spent attending assorted birthing classes, and Andrea has read just about every book published on the subject. You know it's bad when the birthing class teacher is consulting with Andrea before answering questions. That's great and all, but somewhere in this we almost feel like we're not exactly getting our money's worth, ya know? On the other hand, the breastfeeding class was very informative and entertaining....just ask John (he had his mouth opened and didn't blink the entire 2 hours of the class). It was the breast class ever!
